Passport validity is strictly enforced
Tajikistan requires your passport to be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. If your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding or entry. No exceptions.
Register if staying over 10 days
If you plan to stay more than 10 days, you must register with the Migration Service. Hotels handle this automatically. If you're in private accommodation, visit the local OVIR office within 10 days of arrival. Failing to register can result in fines or problems when leaving.

Arrive at Dushanbe International Airport (or land border)
Most travellers fly into Dushanbe. At the airport, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. There are separate queues for Tajik citizens and foreigners. Join the foreigner queue.

Present your passport and ticket
Hand over your passport and your return/onward ticket (printed or on your phone). The officer will check your passport validity and stamp you in. No visa is needed.

Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, pick up your bags from the carousel, then walk through customs. You're free to go.
