Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date from the Philippines
Your passport needs at least 6 months of remaining validity from the day you leave the Philippines. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from the Philippines
Immigration officers at Manila, Cebu, and Clark ask for a confirmed onward ticket within your 30-day visa-free stay. Budget airlines like Cebu Pacific and AirAsia enforce this strictly at check-in — have a printed or digital copy ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration may ask for your first night's hotel booking or a letter of invitation from your host. A simple booking confirmation email or Airbnb receipt works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Officers sometimes ask for proof of at least ₱10,000 (around $180 USD) in cash or a bank statement. A credit card with a decent limit usually satisfies them.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check your passport validity at check-in. If you have less than 6 months left, you won't be allowed to board. Renew your passport well in advance.
eTravel form required 72 hours before arrival
Fill out the free online eTravel form within 3 days of your flight. You'll get a QR code — save it on your phone. Without it, immigration processing will be delayed.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare documents before you fly
Have your passport (valid 6+ months), return ticket, and first-night accommodation confirmation ready. Save digital copies on your phone and print backups.
2
Fill out the eTravel arrival declaration
Complete the online eTravel form within 72 hours before departure. You'll get a QR code — screenshot it. This replaces the old paper arrival card.
3
Go through immigration at the airport
At Manila (NAIA), Cebu, or Clark, join the foreign passport queue. Hand over your passport, return ticket, and eTravel QR code. The officer will ask your purpose and length of stay. Answer clearly — tourism, 2 weeks, etc.
4
Receive your entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay (usually 30 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter.
