Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date from the Philippines
Your passport needs at least two blank pages for entry and exit stamps. Immigration officers at Ninoy Aquino International Airport check this strictly — I've seen people turned away for less.Required
Return or onward ticket
Outbound flight booking within 30 days
Philippine immigration always asks for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready — they check this before letting you through to the departure hall.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration officers occasionally ask where you're staying. A hotel confirmation or a letter from your host with their address and contact number works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
At least PHP 10,000 or equivalent per day of stay
Officers may ask to see cash, bank statements, or credit card limits. Having a printed bank statement or showing your banking app on your phone usually satisfies them.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check your passport validity at check-in. If it's less than 6 months from your entry date, you won't be allowed to board. Double-check before you go.
No arrival card needed
The Philippines scrapped the arrival declaration card. You just go straight to immigration with your passport and documents.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the immigration counter
At any Philippine international airport (Manila, Cebu, Clark, etc.), join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
2
Present documents
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation proof. Answer questions clearly (purpose of visit, length of stay).
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with 'Visa Free' and a date. Check the stamp says 30 days. Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it for departure.
4
Proceed to baggage claim and customs
After immigration, collect your luggage and pass through customs. There's a separate queue for 'Green Lane' (nothing to declare) and 'Red Lane' (goods to declare).
