Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Libyan passport holders need a visa for Uzbekistan. Apply online at e-visa.gov.uz at least 3 working days before departure. The eVisa costs $20 USD for single entry and is valid for 30 days from the issue date.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended departure date from Uzbekistan. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of exit
Immigration officers at Tashkent International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host in Uzbekistan. Officers may ask for it during passport control, especially if you are staying at a private address.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient money for your stay
Have bank statements or a credit card showing you can cover your expenses. Immigration rarely asks for this, but having $50–$100 USD per day available is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Register within 3 days
If you're staying more than 3 days, your hotel will register you automatically. But if you're in a private apartment, you must go to the local OVIR office yourself. Failing to register can result in a fine when you leave.
Keep your registration slip
When you leave Uzbekistan, immigration may ask for your registration slip. Keep it with your passport. If you lose it, you could face delays or a fine at the airport.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-Visa
Go to e-visa.gov.uz and fill out the application. You'll need to upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online. Processing usually takes 2-3 business days, but apply at least a week before your trip.
2
Receive and Save Your Visa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF via email. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. The visa is linked to your passport number, so you don't need a physical sticker.
3
Arrival at Tashkent International Airport
When you land, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Have your passport, printed e-visa, and return ticket ready. The officer will check your visa, stamp your passport, and you're in. The whole process usually takes 10-15 minutes.
4
Register with Local Authorities
Your hotel will register you with the local police within 3 days of your arrival. If you're staying with friends or in a private apartment, you must register yourself at the local OVIR office. Keep the registration slip — you may need it when leaving.
