Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
You need an eVisa to enter Myanmar. Apply at the official Myanmar eVisa portal (evisa.moip.gov.mm). Processing takes about 3 working days, and you'll receive an approval letter via email — print it and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for 6 months beyond your stay
Your Moroccan passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from your date of entry into Myanmar. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Yangon and Mandalay airports routinely ask for proof of a return or onward flight. Have a printed or digital copy of your ticket ready — they may deny entry if you can't show one.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
While not always requested, having a hotel booking confirmation or an invitation letter from a host can smooth the immigration process. Keep a printed copy or save it on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Officials may ask to see evidence of sufficient funds for your stay. Carry a recent bank statement or a credit card showing available credit — around $300–$500 USD equivalent is a safe benchmark.Recommended
eVisa only at these airports
Your eVisa is only valid for entry through Yangon, Mandalay, or Naypyidaw airports. If you fly into another airport or try to enter by land, you'll be turned away.
Keep your eVisa accessible
Print a copy and also save the PDF on your phone. Immigration officers may ask to see it before you even reach the counter.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Myanmar eVisa website (evisa.moip.gov.mm). Fill in your personal details, passport info, and travel dates. Upload a recent passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $50 USD) by credit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 working days, but can take up to 7.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get an email with a PDF attachment. Print at least one copy and save a digital version on your phone. The eVisa is linked to your passport number — you don't need to carry the original email.
3
Arrive at Yangon, Mandalay, or Naypyidaw airport
The eVisa is only valid for entry through Yangon International Airport, Mandalay International Airport, or Naypyidaw International Airport. Land border crossings are not allowed with this visa. At immigration, present your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. They'll stamp you in for up to 28 days.
4
Complete arrival formalities
After immigration, collect your luggage and proceed to customs. There's no arrival declaration form to fill. Keep your accommodation confirmation and insurance details accessible in case an officer asks.
