Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay in Singapore
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date from Singapore. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Singapore
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Budget airlines like Scoot and AirAsia enforce this strictly at check-in — have your booking confirmation ready on your phone or printed.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have your hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host ready. Immigration rarely asks for it, but if you arrive without a clear place to stay, they may question your plans.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or bank statement
Carry at least SGD 1,000 (or equivalent in cash, traveler's cheques, or a credit card statement). Immigration can ask to see proof you can support yourself during your stay.Recommended
Overstaying is serious
Even one day over your 30-day limit can result in a fine of up to SGD 1,000 and possible deportation. Set a reminder to leave before day 30.
No arrival card needed
Singapore has scrapped the paper arrival card for most nationalities, including Mongolia. Just walk up to the immigration counter with your passport.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months from entry date). Book your return/onward ticket and first night accommodation. Download or print confirmations. Get travel insurance and an eSIM if you want data immediately on landing.
2
Arrive at Changi Airport or land checkpoint
At Changi Airport, follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' immigration counters. If arriving by bus from Malaysia at Woodlands or Tuas Checkpoint, join the foreign passport queue. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
3
Present your passport and answer questions
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask: 'How long are you staying?', 'Where are you staying?', 'Do you have a return ticket?'. Answer clearly. They'll stamp your passport with a 30-day visit pass.
4
Collect your baggage and exit
After immigration, collect checked luggage from the carousel, then proceed through customs (green lane if nothing to declare). You're now free to enter Singapore.
