Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date from the Philippines
Your passport needs at least 6 months of remaining validity from the day you leave the Philippines. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from the Philippines
Immigration officers at Manila, Cebu, and Clark airports routinely ask for a confirmed onward ticket within 30 days. If you cannot show one, they may deny entry or put you on the next flight out at your own expense.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation letter
Have a printed or digital hotel confirmation for at least the first few nights. Immigration may ask where you are staying — a booking.com reservation or an invitation letter from a friend works fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Cash, bank statement, or credit card
Officers may ask how you plan to support yourself during your stay. Carry at least 20,000 PHP (around $350 USD) in cash or have a bank statement showing sufficient balance.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Airlines check your passport validity at check-in. If you have less than 6 months remaining from your entry date, you will not be allowed to board. Double-check your passport before booking flights.
eTravel registration is mandatory
Complete the free online eTravel form at etravel.gov.ph within 72 hours before your flight. Save the QR code on your phone. Without it, you may be delayed at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents before departure
Check your passport validity (6+ months beyond entry date). Book your return/onward ticket and first night accommodation. Save screenshots of both on your phone. Consider getting travel insurance and a local eSIM.
2
Fill out the eTravel arrival card
Complete the online eTravel registration within 72 hours before your flight. You'll get a QR code — save it on your phone. This replaces the paper arrival card.
3
Go through immigration on arrival
At Manila, Cebu, or other international airports, join the foreign passport queue. Hand over your passport and boarding pass. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation. Answer clearly. You'll receive a 30-day entry stamp.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel. Proceed to customs — green channel if you have nothing to declare, red channel if you do. Then exit into the arrivals hall.
