Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay in Singapore
Your Maltese passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Singapore does not require 6 months of validity beyond your departure date — just enough to cover your stay. Airlines sometimes enforce the 6-month rule, so check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Immigration may ask for proof of onward travel
Singapore immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket at the counter. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. If you're flying out to a third country, that ticket also counts.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host's address
Have your hotel confirmation or the address and phone number of where you're staying written down. Immigration rarely asks for it, but if they do, you'll need a specific address — not just 'staying with a friend'.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during the stay
Carry a credit card or bank statement showing you have enough money for your trip. Immigration almost never checks this for Maltese passport holders, but it's good to have a backup if questioned.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport is close to expiring, renew it before booking flights.
No arrival card needed
Singapore no longer requires an arrival card or online declaration for most visitors. Just walk up to the immigration counter with your passport.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Changi Airport
You'll go through immigration at Changi Airport (Terminal 1, 2, 3, or 4 depending on your airline). Join the 'All Passports' queue. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
2
Present documents to immigration officer
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask the purpose of your visit, how long you're staying, and where you're staying. Answer clearly. They may also ask for your return ticket — have it ready on your phone.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the allowed stay (usually 90 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter — if it says 30 days by mistake, ask them to correct it.
4
Collect luggage and proceed
After immigration, collect your checked bags from the carousel and proceed through customs. No customs declaration form is needed for most visitors.
