Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Georgia does not require 6 months of passport validity beyond your stay — your passport just needs to be valid for the entire time you're in the country. Airlines may still ask for 6 months, so check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Georgia
Immigration officers at Tbilisi and Kutaisi airports routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight reservation ready. A bus or train ticket to a neighboring country also works.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Officers may ask where you're staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary. A hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from a host in Georgia covers this. Screenshots on your phone are fine.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself during your stay
Georgia does not enforce a fixed minimum, but officers may ask how you'll fund your trip. Have a bank statement or credit card ready. A daily budget of roughly $50–$100 per person is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Visa-free for 360 days
Mexican passport holders can stay in Georgia for up to 360 days per year without any visa. Just show up with your passport. No application, no fee, no paperwork.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Georgia. If it expires sooner, you will be turned away at the border. Check your passport before booking flights.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the border
At Tbilisi International Airport or any land border crossing, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport and return ticket ready. The officer will check your passport validity, stamp you in, and you're done. The whole process usually takes 2-5 minutes.
2
Complete the arrival card (if asked)
Some land borders may hand you a small arrival card to fill out with your name, passport number, and accommodation address. Keep it with your passport until you leave. At Tbilisi Airport, this is rarely required.
3
Proceed to baggage claim and exit
After immigration, collect your luggage (if any) and walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel unless you have goods to declare. No customs forms for most travellers.

Frequently asked questions

You can stay up to 360 days in any 365-day period. That's almost a full year. If you leave and re-enter, the clock resets — but immigration may question frequent back-to-back visits.
No. The visa-free period is not extendable. If you want to stay longer, you'd need to apply for a temporary residence permit through the Civil Registry Agency in Tbilisi, which requires a valid reason (work, study, family reunification).
No, there is no official requirement to show bank statements or cash. However, if an officer suspects you might overstay or work illegally, they could ask. Having a credit card and a few hundred dollars in cash is sensible.
You will be denied entry. The 6-month validity rule is strictly enforced. If your passport has less than 6 months left, renew it before you travel.
No. The visa-free regime is for tourism, business meetings, and transit only. If you plan to work or study, you must apply for the appropriate visa or residence permit before arriving. Working on a tourist entry can get you deported and banned.
Overstaying is a violation. You may face a fine (around 180 GEL, about $65 USD) and a ban from re-entering Georgia for a period. In serious cases, deportation. Always leave before day 360.
No. Mexican passport holders can transit through Georgia without a visa for up to 360 days. You can even leave the airport and explore Tbilisi during a layover.
