Iceland entry requirements for Mexico passport holders
Mexican passport holders can visit Iceland for tourism or business stays up to 90 days without a visa. Iceland is part of the Schengen Area, so the same rules apply as for other Schengen countries. As of 2026, you only need your passport and a few supporting documents to enter.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Details | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Valid passport Must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure date from the Schengen area | Your passport needs at least 3 months of validity after your planned departure from Iceland (and the entire Schengen zone). Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding. | Required |
| Return or onward ticket Proof of departure from the Schengen area | Immigration officers at Keflavík Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket showing you leave the Schengen zone within 90 days. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready. | Required |
| Proof of accommodation Hotel booking, hostel reservation, or invitation letter | Officers may ask where you are staying for the entire trip. Have a hotel confirmation, Airbnb receipt, or a letter from a host with their address and phone number ready. | Recommended |
| Proof of funds Bank statement, credit card, or cash | You may be asked to show you can support yourself during your stay. A recent bank statement or a credit card with a sufficient limit usually satisfies the officer. | Recommended |
