Valid passport
Must cover your stay
Your Malaysian passport must be valid for at least the duration of your stay in Armenia. No minimum validity beyond departure is required by Armenian law, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Border officers at Zvartnots Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing your exit from Armenia within the eVisa validity period.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation
Immigration may ask where you're staying. Have a hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from a host ready. A simple booking printout or email works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry bank statements or a credit card showing access to at least $50 USD per day of your stay. Officers rarely ask, but it's better to have it ready.Recommended
eVisa is the only option
Malaysian passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival for Armenia. You must apply and receive approval online before you travel. No exceptions.
Passport validity is strict
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter Armenia. If it's close to expiring, renew it first — you will be turned away at the border.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa online
Go to the official Armenian eVisa website (evisa.mfa.am) and fill out the application. Upload a digital passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee with a credit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, but can be faster.
2
Receive and save your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get the eVisa by email. Save a PDF copy on your phone and print a paper backup. Keep it with your passport.
3
Arrive at Yerevan airport
At Zvartnots International Airport (EVN), proceed to the immigration queue. Have your passport, eVisa printout, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer will stamp you in — the process is usually straightforward.
4
Exit immigration and collect luggage
After the stamp, head to baggage claim. There are no additional checks for most travellers. If you need a SIM, you can buy one at the airport kiosks or use an eSIM.
