Mozambican passport holders need a visa to enter Kuwait. You must apply and receive approval before you travel — there are no visa-on-arrival options. This requirement is in effect for 2026.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Required for Mozambique passport holders
Apply for a Kuwait eVisa at the official Ministry of Interior portal. The eVisa is valid for single entry and a stay of up to 30 days. Processing takes 1–3 business days, and you'll receive the visa by email — print a copy to present at the border.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your Mozambique passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Kuwait. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration at Kuwait International Airport enforces it strictly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers in Kuwait routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
While not always checked, having a hotel booking or an invitation letter from a host in Kuwait speeds up the immigration process. If staying with family, carry their contact details and address.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry evidence of sufficient funds for your stay — bank statements or a credit card statement showing available credit. Immigration may ask how you'll support yourself during the visit.Recommended
eVisa approval is not guaranteed
The Kuwaiti authorities have full discretion. Apply early and ensure all documents are correct. If rejected, you lose the fee and must reapply.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa, flight ticket, and hotel booking as PDFs on your phone and email them to yourself. Immigration may ask to see them, and airport Wi-Fi isn't always reliable.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for eVisa
Go to the official Kuwait eVisa website (evisa.moi.gov.kw). Fill in your personal details, passport info, and travel dates. Upload a digital passport photo. Pay the fee online — around 3–6 KWD depending on visa type. Processing takes 3–5 business days. You'll receive the visa by email.
2
Prepare Travel Documents
Print or save to your phone: the eVisa approval email, your return flight ticket, and your hotel booking confirmation. Make sure your passport has at least one blank page.
3
Arrive at Kuwait International Airport
At the immigration counter, hand over your passport and the printed eVisa (or show the email on your phone). The officer will check your documents, take your photo, and stamp your passport. The whole process usually takes 5–10 minutes.
4
Collect Luggage and Exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There's nothing special to declare for personal items. Exit into the arrivals hall.
