Dutch passport holders can enter Tajikistan without a visa for stays up to 30 days. This policy applies in 2026 for tourism and business visits. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your arrival date.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the full 30 days you plan to stay in Tajikistan. Airlines at Schiphol and Dushanbe airport check this before boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Outbound travel proof
Immigration at Dushanbe International Airport asks for a confirmed onward ticket out of Tajikistan. Budget airlines like Somon Air and Turkish Airlines check this before issuing a boarding pass.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Border officers may ask where you're staying. Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from a host with their address and phone number ready.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers occasionally ask for proof you have enough money for your stay. Carry a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least $500 USD.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. If it's even a day short, you'll be turned away at the border. Check your passport now, not at the airport.
Keep a copy of your entry stamp
Take a photo of your entry stamp as soon as you get it. If you lose your passport or need to prove your legal entry, that photo is your backup. Also note the exact date stamped — it's your 30-day deadline.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Dushanbe International Airport
Most travellers fly into Dushanbe International Airport (DYU). After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. There's usually one queue for all foreigners.
2
Present your passport and boarding pass
Hand over your passport (valid 6+ months) and your boarding pass. The officer will check your passport and may ask for your return ticket or hotel address. Answer clearly and politely.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer stamps your passport with a visa-free entry valid for up to 30 days. Check the stamp before leaving the counter — make sure the date is correct.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. Walk through the green channel if you have nothing to declare.
