Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Georgia. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Georgia
Immigration officers may ask for a return or onward ticket to confirm you will leave within the 360-day visa-free period. Have a printed or digital copy ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation, rental agreement, or an invitation letter from your host. Officers rarely ask, but having it ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing access to at least 2,000 GEL (around $750 USD) for your stay. Officers rarely request this, but it helps if asked.Recommended
360 days is generous — but don't push it
You can stay almost a full year without a visa. But if you overstay even by a day, you risk a fine and a re-entry ban. Set a reminder to leave before day 360.
No visa, no fee, no application
This is one of the easiest destinations for Norwegians. Just show your passport at the border and you're in. No forms, no payments, no waiting.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the border
At Tbilisi International Airport, Kutaisi, or any land border crossing, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport ready.
2
Hand over your passport
The officer will scan your passport, check your photo, and stamp it. They may ask how long you're staying and where you're staying. Answer clearly.
3
Receive your entry stamp
You'll get a stamp with the date of entry. No visa sticker or separate document. That's it — you're in.
