Omani passport holders need a visa to enter Brazil in 2026. You must apply for an e-Visa online before your trip — there is no visa-on-arrival option. Plan ahead, as processing can take up to a week.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa application
Apply for a visa before travel
Omani passport holders need a visa to enter Brazil. Apply through the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs eVisa portal at gov.br/mre. Processing takes 5–10 business days — submit at least 2 weeks before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay
Your passport needs at least 6 months of validity from your planned departure date from Brazil. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Brazil
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket showing you'll leave Brazil before your visa expires. Have a printed or digital copy ready — budget airlines often check this at the gate too.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Keep a hotel reservation or a letter from your host with their address and contact details. Officers rarely ask for it, but having it ready avoids delays at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or credit card
Carry a recent bank statement or a credit card with sufficient limit. Immigration may ask how you'll support yourself — showing a card with a few hundred USD available usually satisfies them.Recommended
Apply early — no walk-in visas
Brazil does not offer visa-on-arrival for Omani passport holders. You must have an approved e-Visa before you fly. Apply at least 2 weeks ahead to avoid last-minute stress.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your e-Visa PDF, flight tickets, and hotel confirmations on your phone and in the cloud. If you lose your printed copies, you can still show them at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-Visa online
Go to the Brazilian government e-Visa portal (gov.br/mre/en/assuntos/portal-consular/visas/visa-application-e-visa). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $40–$80 depending on nationality). Processing usually takes 3–7 business days.
2
Receive and print your visa
Once approved, you'll get an email with a PDF of your e-Visa. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. The visa is valid for up to 90 days from the date of issue.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
Before you fly, gather: passport (6+ months validity), printed e-Visa, return ticket, first-night hotel booking, and travel insurance details. Keep them in your carry-on.
4
Arrive at a Brazilian airport
You'll land at one of the main international airports: São Paulo (GRU), Rio de Janeiro (GIG), Brasília (BSB), or others. Follow signs to 'Passport Control' (Controle de Passaportes). Join the queue for foreign passports.
5
Present documents at immigration
Hand over your passport and printed e-Visa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation. Answer questions briefly and honestly. They'll stamp your passport with the entry date and allowed stay (usually 90 days).
