Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport must be valid for the entire period you plan to stay in Kuwait. Kuwait does not require 6 months of remaining validity for Omani nationals. Airlines may still check for 6 months validity — carry a printout of Kuwait's official policy if challenged.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Kuwait
Immigration officers at Kuwait International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight itinerary ready. This applies even for visa-free entry.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Kuwait ready. Immigration may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or bank statement
Carry enough cash (KWD 500 or equivalent) or a recent bank statement showing available funds. Immigration rarely checks this for Omani nationals, but it helps if questioned about your ability to support yourself.Recommended
GCC lane at immigration
Omani passport holders can use the dedicated GCC lane at Kuwait International Airport. This lane is usually faster than the general foreigner queue.
Overstay penalties are strict
Overstaying even one day can result in a fine of 10 KWD per day (about $33 USD). Multiple overstays can lead to a re-entry ban. Set a reminder to leave on time.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Kuwait International Airport (KWI)
Follow signs to 'Arrivals' and then 'Passport Control'. There are separate queues for GCC nationals and other nationalities. Omani passport holders use the 'GCC' lane.
2
Present your passport at the immigration counter
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your validity and may ask for your return ticket and accommodation. Answer clearly and politely.
3
Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 90-day visa-free entry. No fee is charged. Collect your passport and proceed to baggage claim.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After baggage claim, you'll pass through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. You're now free to enter Kuwait.
