Peruvian passport holders need an eVisa to visit India. The eVisa covers tourism, business, and medical visits, and you must apply online before traveling. As of 2026, the eVisa is the standard entry method for Peruvians.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply for an Indian eVisa at indianvisaonline.gov.in at least 4 days before your flight. The fee ranges from $25 to $80 USD depending on the visa type (tourist, business, medical). Approval usually comes within 72 hours — print the approval email and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must have at least 6 months validity
Your Peruvian passport needs at least 6 months of remaining validity from your date of arrival in India. Immigration officers at Delhi and Mumbai check this strictly — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Indian immigration routinely asks for proof of onward travel at the counter. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or onward ticket ready — they will not let you through without it.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host in India. Immigration officers at major airports like Delhi and Mumbai occasionally ask for it, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Have a bank statement or credit card showing you have enough funds for your trip. Officers rarely ask for it, but if they do, you need to show at least $300–$500 for a short visit.Recommended
eVisa is not valid at all entry points
The eVisa only works at 28 airports and 5 seaports. If you're arriving by land (e.g., from Nepal), you need a regular visa. Check the official list before you book.
Keep your eVisa approval accessible
Print the eVisa approval email or save it as a PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and at immigration. A screenshot is fine, but a printout is more reliable.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Indian eVisa website (indianvisaonline.gov.in). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport photo and a scanned copy of your passport's bio page. Pay the fee online. Processing takes 3-5 business days, sometimes up to a week. You'll receive an approval email with a PDF. Print it or save it on your phone.
2
Book your flights and accommodation
Book a return or onward ticket and your first night's accommodation. Keep the confirmation emails or screenshots handy. If you're staying with friends, get their address and a letter of invitation.
3
Pack your documents
Carry your passport, the eVisa approval email (printed or digital), your flight itinerary, and your hotel booking. Also have a copy of your travel insurance policy if you bought one.
4
Arrive at an Indian airport
The eVisa is valid at 28 airports, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Goa. At immigration, join the 'eVisa' queue. Hand over your passport and the eVisa approval. The officer will take your photo and fingerprints. You'll get a stamp with your allowed stay duration.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel. You'll pass through customs. If you have nothing to declare, use the green channel. You're now in India.
