Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure date from Malaysia
Your passport needs at least two blank pages for entry and exit stamps. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Malaysia
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward ticket. A flight booking out of Malaysia within 90 days works. If you overstay, the fine is RM 30 per day (about $7 USD), paid at the airport before departure.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a printed or digital hotel confirmation for at least your first few nights. Immigration rarely asks, but budget airlines sometimes check before letting you board.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient cash or bank statement
Carry at least RM 1,000 (about $230 USD) in cash or have a bank statement showing available funds. Immigration almost never checks this for short stays, but having it avoids hassle.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your entry date. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you won't be allowed to fly. Double-check before you go.
No arrival card needed
Unlike many other countries, Malaysia does not require Peruvian passport holders to fill out an arrival card or online declaration. Just walk up to immigration with your passport and ticket.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Malaysian immigration
You'll go through immigration at any international airport (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, etc.) or land border crossing. Join the 'Foreign Passport' queue.
2
Present your documents
Hand over your passport (with 6+ months validity and a blank page) and your return/onward ticket. The officer may ask your purpose of visit and where you're staying. Answer clearly and briefly.
3
Get your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 90-day visa-free entry. Check the stamp before leaving the counter — make sure the date is correct. Keep the stamp safe; you'll need it when you leave.
4
Exit immigration
After stamping, you're free to collect your luggage and exit. No arrival card or online declaration is required for Peruvian passport holders.
