Peruvian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Vietnam in 2026. The eVisa is valid for up to 90 days and allows single or multiple entries. You must apply online before you travel.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Vietnam eVisa at the official Immigration Department portal. The eVisa costs $25 USD, allows single or multiple entry, and is valid for up to 90 days. Processing takes 3 working days — do not book flights until you receive approval.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Vietnam. Vietnam does not require 6 months of validity beyond your departure date, but some airlines may enforce it — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your outbound flight booking ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have your hotel reservation or a letter from your host ready. Officers rarely ask for it, but having a printed copy avoids delays if they do.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Carry a bank statement or enough cash to cover your stay. Immigration rarely checks, but budget airlines may ask for proof of funds before boarding.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Vietnam, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa.
eVisa is not extendable
The eVisa cannot be extended. If you want to stay longer than 90 days, you'll need to leave Vietnam and re-enter with a new eVisa, or get a different visa type from a Vietnamese embassy before you travel.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Vietnamese eVisa website (evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport data page. Pay the fee (around $25 USD) with a credit card. Processing takes 3-5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get an email with your eVisa attached. Print a paper copy — you'll need to show it at check-in and at immigration in Vietnam. Save a digital copy on your phone as backup.
3
Prepare your documents for departure
Before heading to the airport, gather: your passport (valid 6+ months), printed eVisa, return/onward ticket, and first night hotel booking. Keep them in your carry-on.
4
Arrive at a Vietnamese airport
At immigration, join the 'eVisa' or 'Foreigners' queue. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and boarding pass. The officer will stamp you in — usually takes 1-2 minutes. No extra forms needed.
