RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel

Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration officers enforce it strictly.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Cambodia
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket within your visa validity. Have a printed or digital copy ready — airlines also check this before boarding.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host address
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host. Immigration may ask for it, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support your stay
Have at least $500 USD in cash or a credit card statement ready. Immigration rarely asks, but it's better to have proof if questioned.Recommended
Cash only — no cards accepted
The visa on arrival fee must be paid in US dollars cash. ATMs at the airport dispense Cambodian Riel, not dollars. Bring US$30 in crisp, undamaged bills. Old or torn notes will be refused.
e-Arrival Card saves time
Fill out the free e-Arrival Card at arrival.gov.kh before you fly. You'll get a QR code that lets you skip the paper form queue. It's valid for 7 days before your arrival.

What happens at the border

1
Fill out the e-Arrival Card (recommended)
Go to arrival.gov.kh up to 7 days before your flight. Complete the form, get your QR code, and save it on your phone. This replaces the paper arrival card and speeds up the queue.
2
Queue at the Visa on Arrival counter
After deplaning at Phnom Penh or Siem Reap airport, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival'. Hand over your passport, photo, and US$30. The officer will process your visa and give you a receipt.
3
Proceed to immigration
Take your passport (now with the visa sticker) and your e-Arrival QR code or paper card to the immigration officer. They'll stamp you in. Keep the departure card stub in your passport — you'll need it when you leave.
