What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-Visa online
Go to the official Kenya e-Visa website (etakenya.go.ke). Fill out the application, upload your passport scan and photo, and pay the fee (around $51 USD for a single-entry tourist visa). Processing usually takes 2-5 business days.
2
Print your e-Visa approval
Once approved, you'll receive an e-Visa document by email. Print a copy and save a PDF on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and on arrival.
3
Arrive at JKIA (Nairobi) or Moi International (Mombasa)
At immigration, join the 'Visitors' queue. Have your passport, e-Visa printout, return ticket, and accommodation proof ready. The officer will stamp you in — usually for up to 90 days.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After clearing immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel. You may be asked to show your customs declaration form (if you have goods to declare). Then you're free to exit.
