Polish passport holders can get a Visa on Arrival (VoA) for tourism, business, or transit stays in Indonesia. The VoA is issued at major airports and seaports, costs 500,000 IDR (about €30), and allows a 30-day stay. As of 2026, this is the standard entry method for short visits.

Apply for Indonesia eVisaB211A Social/Tourism visa. Apply at least 7 days before travel.

Visa on arrival
Visa on arrival
Get your visa on arrival at major Indonesian airports and seaports. Pay the fee in USD or IDR cash — $35 USD for 30 days. Have your return ticket and hotel booking ready at the counter.Apply onlineRequired
Valid passport
Passport validity
Your Polish passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date in Indonesia. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Return ticket
Immigration officers routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready. Without it, you may be refused entry or forced to buy a ticket at the airport.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking
Carry a printed or digital hotel confirmation for your entire stay. Immigration may ask for it at the visa-on-arrival counter. A simple booking.com or Agoda confirmation works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient funds
Have at least $1,000 USD or equivalent in cash, card, or bank statement. Immigration rarely checks, but it is a formal requirement for the visa on arrival.Recommended
Cash is king at smaller airports
At major airports like Bali and Jakarta, you can pay the VoA fee by card. But at smaller airports and seaports, cash (IDR, USD, or EUR) is the only option. Have 500,000 IDR in small bills ready to avoid delays.
VoA is not available for all nationalities
Poland is on the list of 92 countries eligible for VoA. If your passport changes or you hold dual nationality, check the Indonesian immigration website for the current list before booking.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at immigration counter
After landing at any major Indonesian airport (Jakarta, Bali, Lombok, Surabaya, etc.), follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' or 'Foreign Passport' counters. Do not go to the Indonesian citizen line.
2
Pay the fee and get your sticker
Hand over your passport and the fee (500,000 IDR). The officer will issue a VoA sticker and place it in your passport. This takes 2–5 minutes.
3
Proceed to immigration inspection
Go to the immigration officer with your passport (now with the sticker), boarding pass, and return ticket. They may ask your purpose of visit and where you're staying. Answer briefly and honestly.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After the officer stamps your passport, you're free to collect your bags and exit the arrivals hall. Keep the VoA sticker intact — you'll need it when you leave.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, you can extend it once for another 30 days. You must apply at an immigration office (Kantor Imigrasi) before the first 30 days expire. The extension costs about 500,000 IDR and takes 3–5 working days. You'll need a sponsor letter from a hotel or local contact, a copy of your passport, and a recent photo.
For stays over 60 days, you need a different visa before you travel — either a Social/Cultural Visa (B-211) valid for 60 days extendable up to 180 days, or a Business Visa (B-211A). Apply at an Indonesian embassy or consulate in Poland. The VoA is not extendable beyond 60 days total.
No. VoA is available at 15 designated airports and 23 seaports. Major ones include Jakarta (CGK), Bali (DPS), Lombok (LOP), Surabaya (SUB), and Medan (KNO). Smaller airports like Yogyakarta (YIA) also offer it. Check the Indonesian immigration website for the full list.
As of 2026, there is no mandatory arrival declaration form for most travellers. However, you may be asked to fill out a customs declaration card on the plane. Health forms are not currently required, but this can change — check the Indonesian Ministry of Health website a week before travel.
Overstaying costs 1,000,000 IDR (about €60) per day, payable at the airport immigration office before departure. For overstays longer than 60 days, you may face a ban from re-entering Indonesia. Always extend or leave before your stamp expires.
No. The VoA is strictly for tourism, business meetings, or transit. Any paid work (including freelance or remote work for a foreign company) is technically illegal on a VoA. For work, you need a proper work permit (KITAS) arranged by your employer.
Yes, but only at specific land border crossings with Malaysia (e.g., Entikong, Badau) and Timor-Leste. Most Polish travellers arrive by air, so this is rarely used. If you're crossing by land, confirm with the nearest Indonesian embassy first.
