Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Polish passport only needs to be valid for the length of your stay in Taiwan. Airlines sometimes enforce a 6-month validity rule — check with your carrier before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Taiwan
Immigration officers at Taoyuan Airport routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital hotel reservation for your first few nights. If staying with friends, have their name, address, and phone number written down — officers may ask for it.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card showing available funds. There's no fixed minimum, but having the equivalent of a few hundred USD visible helps avoid secondary questioning.Recommended
Visa-free entry is automatic — no application needed
Just show up with your passport. No forms, no fees, no waiting. The 90 days reset each time you re-enter, but don't try to live there indefinitely — immigration may question frequent back-to-back visits.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) or other entry point
Most flights from Europe land at TPE. Follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' immigration. Queue times vary — 10–30 minutes is typical. Have your passport and boarding pass ready.
2
Present your passport and boarding pass at the counter
The officer will check your passport validity, ask your purpose of visit, and may ask for your return ticket. Answer clearly: 'Tourism' or 'Business'. They'll stamp you in and hand back your passport.
3
Collect luggage and proceed through customs
After immigration, grab your bags from the carousel. Customs is usually green channel (nothing to declare) unless you have restricted items. No forms to fill for visa-free entry.
