Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended departure date from Uzbekistan. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Uzbekistan
Immigration officers at Tashkent International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone — they rarely accept verbal promises.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host. Border officers may ask where you are staying — having a booking reference ready avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Sufficient money for your stay
You should have access to at least $50 USD per day of your stay. Immigration rarely asks, but if they do, show a bank statement or a credit card with available limit.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Uzbekistan requires your passport to be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date. Airlines check this before boarding. If your passport expires sooner, you won't be allowed to fly.
Keep your departure card safe
The small white card you get on arrival has a departure half. You must hand it back when leaving Uzbekistan. Lose it and you'll face delays and paperwork at the airport.

What happens at the border

1
Arrival at the airport
At Tashkent International Airport (or any land border), head to the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer will check your passport validity and may ask for your return ticket or accommodation. You'll get a stamp valid for 30 days.
2
Fill out the arrival card
You'll be given a small white arrival/departure card on the plane or at immigration. Fill in your name, passport number, flight number, and address in Uzbekistan. Keep the departure half safe — you'll need to hand it back when you leave.
3
Pass through customs
After immigration, collect your luggage and go through customs. If you're carrying more than $10,000 USD (or equivalent), you must declare it. Otherwise, just walk through the green channel.
