Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Serbian passport needs to be valid for the entire time you plan to stay in Macau. No minimum validity beyond your departure date is required by Macau immigration, but your airline may ask for at least 6 months validity — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Macau
Immigration officers at Macau International Airport routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they check this before granting entry.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed or digital hotel reservation for your entire stay. If staying with a friend, have their name, address, and contact number written down — officers may ask for it.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have a bank statement or credit card ready to show you have enough money for your stay. Macau rarely asks for this, but having a recent statement (last 30 days) avoids any surprises at the border.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Macau, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it before you travel.
No visa-free extension
The 90-day visa-free stay cannot be extended. If you need more time, you must leave Macau before day 90 and re-enter, or apply for a visa extension at the Macau Immigration Department before your stay expires.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Macau International Airport or ferry terminal
You'll land at Macau International Airport (MFM) or arrive by ferry from Hong Kong or mainland China. Follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Arrivals'.
2
Join the 'Foreign Passports' queue
At immigration counters, look for the lane marked 'Foreign Passports' or 'All Passports'. Macau residents and Chinese nationals use separate lanes.
3
Present your passport and any requested documents
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask for your return ticket or hotel booking. Answer clearly and keep your phone ready with screenshots.
4
Get stamped and enter
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date and the allowed stay (90 days). Keep the stamp visible — you'll need it when leaving.
5
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel (if you checked any) and walk through customs. Green channel for nothing to declare, red channel for goods over the duty-free limit.
