What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to visaburkina.bf, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $80–$100 depending on processing speed). You'll receive the eVisa by email within 3–7 business days.
2
Print your eVisa and pack supporting documents
Print the eVisa approval email. Also print or save on your phone: your return ticket, hotel booking confirmation, and proof of travel insurance. Keep these together in a folder.
3
Arrive at Ouagadougou Airport (OUA)
After landing, follow signs to 'Immigration' or 'Passport Control'. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in. The process usually takes 5–10 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, pick up your bags from the carousel. There's a customs check — declare any large sums of cash (over 1,000,000 XOF) or restricted goods. Then you're free to leave the airport.
