Go to the German embassy website in Kigali and book a visa appointment. Slots can fill up weeks in advance, so book as soon as you have your travel dates.

Prepare your documents
Gather all required documents: passport, photos, application form, flight booking, hotel confirmation, insurance, bank statements, and any sponsor letters. Make photocopies of everything.

Attend the visa interview
Show up at the embassy on time with your documents. The officer will review your paperwork, ask about your trip, and take your biometrics (fingerprints and photo). The interview usually lasts 10–15 minutes.

Wait for processing
Standard processing takes 15 calendar days. It can take up to 45 days if more checks are needed. You will be told when to collect your passport or if it will be couriered.
