Saudi Arabian passport holders need an eVisa to visit Myanmar. The eVisa covers tourism and business visits, and you must apply online before traveling. As of 2026, the process is straightforward but requires careful attention to passport validity and supporting documents.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before departure
Apply for a Myanmar eVisa at the official Ministry of Immigration portal. Processing takes 3–5 working days, and you'll receive an approval letter via email. Print the letter and carry it with your passport — immigration at Yangon and Mandalay airports will check it before stamping you in.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover your entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your date of entry. Airlines check this at check-in, and immigration at Yangon will deny boarding if it's shorter. Two blank pages are also required for the entry and exit stamps.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Immigration officers routinely ask for a confirmed onward or return flight. Without one, you risk being refused entry and sent back on the next flight. Budget airlines like AirAsia and Nok Air also check this at check-in.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation letter
Have a printed hotel confirmation or a letter from your host in Myanmar. Immigration may ask where you're staying, and not having an address can lead to secondary questioning. A simple Booking.com confirmation works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Carry at least $300 USD in cash or a credit card statement. Immigration rarely asks, but if they do, you need to show you have enough for your stay. ATMs are available in Yangon and Mandalay but unreliable outside major cities.Recommended
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Myanmar immigration checks passport validity carefully. If your passport expires within 6 months of your entry date, you will be refused boarding or entry. Renew your passport before applying for the eVisa.
Keep digital copies of all documents
Save your eVisa approval, passport bio page, and travel insurance on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose your printed copies, you can still show them on your phone at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Myanmar eVisa website (evisa.moip.gov.mm). Fill in your personal details, passport info, and travel dates. Upload a recent passport-style photo and a scanned copy of your passport bio page. Pay the fee with a credit or debit card. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get an email with your eVisa approval letter. Print a copy and also save a PDF on your phone. The letter includes a QR code that immigration will scan on arrival.
3
Prepare your documents for arrival
Before you land, gather your passport, eVisa printout, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation. Keep them together in your hand luggage. At the airport, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' or 'eVisa' counters — there are separate queues for eVisa holders.
4
Go through immigration
At the immigration counter, hand over your passport and eVisa letter. The officer may ask to see your return ticket and hotel booking. Answer any questions clearly. They'll stamp your passport and you're in. The whole process usually takes 5–10 minutes.
