What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-visa online
Go to https://evisa.gov.mz/ and fill out the application form. You'll need to upload a scanned copy of your passport bio page, a passport-sized photo, and pay the fee online. Processing typically takes 3–5 business days, so apply at least a week before your trip.
2
Receive your e-visa by email
Once approved, you'll receive an e-visa document by email. Print it out and keep a digital copy on your phone. The e-visa is linked to your passport number, so you don't need to carry a separate visa sticker.
3
Arrive at Maputo International Airport (or other entry points)
When you land, go to the immigration desk for foreign passports. Present your passport, e-visa printout, and any supporting documents (return ticket, accommodation). The officer will check your details and stamp you in for up to 30 days. The process usually takes 10–15 minutes if your paperwork is in order.
