What happens at the border

1
Prepare your documents
Before you leave, check your passport validity (6+ months), print or save your return ticket, and have your first night's accommodation address handy. If you're flying into Silvio Pettirossi International Airport (ASU) in Asunción, you'll go through immigration there.
2
Arrive at immigration
At the airport, follow signs to 'Migraciones' (immigration). Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer will stamp your passport and may ask how long you're staying and where you're staying.
3
Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the date of entry and the number of days you're allowed to stay (usually 90). Check the stamp before you walk away. If something looks wrong, ask the officer to correct it.
4
Exit immigration and collect luggage
After the stamp, you'll pass through customs. There's usually a green 'nothing to declare' lane and a red 'goods to declare' lane. If you have nothing to declare, go through green. Then collect your bags and exit.
