Slovak passport holders can visit the UK for tourism, business, or family visits without a visa in 2026. What happens at the border

Apply for your ETA online
Go to gov.uk/apply-uk-visa and fill out the short form. You'll need your passport details and a photo. Pay the £10 fee and wait for approval — usually instant, but allow 72 hours.

Arrive at UK border
Join the 'All Other Passports' queue at airports like Heathrow, Gatwick, or Manchester. Slovak passports can't use the automated eGates, so you'll see a Border Force officer.

Present your documents
Hand over your passport. The officer may ask: purpose of visit, length of stay, where you're staying, and proof of onward travel. Answer clearly and honestly. Have your return ticket and accommodation confirmation ready.

Get your entry stamp
If approved, you'll receive a stamp in your passport with the date and allowed stay (usually 6 months). Check it before walking away — if it's shorter than expected, ask why.

Collect luggage and exit
After the border, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. Green channel for most goods, red if you have something to declare.
