What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs eVisa portal. Create an account, fill in the application, upload your documents (passport scan, photo, travel details), and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 5–15 business days.
2
Wait for approval
You'll receive an email when your eVisa is approved. Print a copy and save a PDF on your phone. Check the visa details carefully — any errors mean you'll need to reapply.
3
Complete Check-Mig
Between 72 and 1 hour before your flight, fill out the Check-Mig form online. You'll need your flight number, seat, passport info, and first accommodation address. Save the QR code they email you.
4
Arrive at Bogotá or other airport
At immigration, hand over your passport and the printed eVisa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation proof. Have them ready. They'll stamp you in — check the stamp says the correct number of days.
