Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Moroccan eVisa at the official portal. Processing takes 3–5 business days. Print the approval email and carry it with your passport — immigration at Casablanca and Marrakech will ask to see it.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
6 months validity required
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your entry date. Airlines at Bangkok (BKK) and Phuket (HKT) check this strictly — they will deny boarding if your passport expires sooner.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Casablanca and Marrakech routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended
Hotel bookings or a letter of invitation from a host in Morocco can speed up the immigration process. Officers may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a clear itinerary.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended
Carry at least 20,000 THB or equivalent in cash or a credit card. Immigration rarely asks, but having it ready avoids delays if they do.Recommended
eVisa processing times can vary
Apply at least 2 weeks before your trip. During peak travel seasons (summer, holidays), processing may take longer. Don't book non-refundable flights until you have the visa in hand.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa, passport, return ticket, and hotel booking as PDFs on your phone. Also email them to yourself. If your phone dies or gets lost, you can access them from any computer.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to acces-maroc.ma. Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (€30–€50 depending on processing speed). Submit and wait for approval — typically 3–10 working days.
2
Pack your documents
Print a copy of your eVisa approval email, or save it as a PDF on your phone. Also have your passport, return ticket, and hotel booking confirmation handy — either printed or on your phone.
3
Arrival at Moroccan airport
At Casablanca (CMN), Marrakech (RAK), or any other airport, go to the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer may ask for your return ticket and hotel booking. Answer clearly. You'll get a stamp and be through in 5–10 minutes.
4
Exit immigration
When leaving Morocco, just show your passport at the departure gate. No exit visa or extra paperwork needed.
