Frequently asked questions

The single-entry tourist visa on arrival costs approximately 650 Mozambican meticals (MZN), which is about $10 USD. You can pay in local currency or USD. Have the exact amount in cash — credit cards are not accepted at the immigration counter.
No, the visa on arrival is not extendable. If you need to stay longer than the initial period (usually 30 days), you must apply for an extension at the immigration office in Maputo or another major city before your visa expires. Overstaying can result in fines.
You will be denied entry. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. Renew your passport before traveling.
Mozambique requires a yellow fever vaccination certificate if you are arriving from a country with risk of yellow fever transmission. Turkey is not a risk country, so it's not required for direct flights. But if you've recently traveled to a risk country, you'll need the certificate.
Visa on arrival is available at all major ports of entry, including land borders like the Ressano Garcia border with South Africa and the Machipanda border with Zimbabwe. The process is the same — just have your documents and cash ready.
Immigration may refuse entry. Always have a confirmed onward or return ticket. A screenshot on your phone is acceptable.
Yes, but keep it in a secure place like a money belt or hidden pocket. The airport is generally safe, but it's good practice to not flash large amounts of cash.
