Turkish passport holders need an eVisa to enter Tajikistan. The process is entirely online and takes just a few minutes. As of 2026, you must apply before you travel — there is no visa on arrival for Turkish citizens.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Tajikistan eVisa at www.evisa.tj. Processing takes 3–5 working days. Print the approval email and carry it with your passport — immigration at Dushanbe Airport will ask to see it.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Turkish passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Tajikistan. Tajikistan does not enforce a 6-month validity rule, but airlines may still check for at least 3 months remaining.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration at Dushanbe Airport routinely asks for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmations or a letter of invitation from a host can speed up the immigration process. Officers rarely demand it, but having it avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry enough cash (USD or EUR) or a credit card to cover your stay — around $50 per day is a safe benchmark. Immigration may ask how you plan to support yourself.Recommended
Register if staying more than 10 days
If you stay longer than 10 calendar days, you must register with OVIR within 10 days of arrival. Your hotel can do it for you. If you don't register, you'll face a fine (around $20–$50 USD) when you leave the country.
eVisa is single-entry only
The eVisa allows one entry. If you leave Tajikistan (even for a day trip), you'll need a new eVisa to re-enter. Plan your itinerary accordingly.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to evisa.tj, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 2–3 business days. You'll receive the eVisa by email as a PDF.
2
Print or save your eVisa
Print a paper copy of the eVisa and also save a screenshot on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and upon arrival in Tajikistan.
3
Arrive at Dushanbe International Airport
At the airport, follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' immigration. Present your passport, eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in. Keep the entry stamp safe — you'll need it when you leave.
4
Register with OVIR (if staying more than 10 days)
If you stay longer than 10 calendar days, you must register with the local OVIR office within 10 days of arrival. Your hotel can usually do this for you. If you're staying with friends, you'll need to go to the OVIR office yourself. Failing to register can result in a fine at departure.
