Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for at least 30 days from your entry date. Uzbekistan does not enforce the 6-month validity rule, but airlines may ask for it at check-in.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Uzbekistan
Immigration officers at Tashkent International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a printed hotel confirmation or an invitation letter from your host. Border officers rarely check it, but having it avoids delays if asked.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can cover your stay
Have a bank statement or credit card ready showing at least $100 USD per day of your trip. Officers almost never ask for it, but it's a legal requirement.Recommended
No visa, no fee, no hassle
Turkish passport holders enjoy visa-free access to Uzbekistan for up to 30 days. No application, no payment, no paperwork. Just show up with a valid passport.
Passport validity is strictly enforced
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter Uzbekistan. Airlines check this before boarding, and immigration checks it on arrival. If your passport expires sooner, you will be denied entry.

What happens at the border

1
Arrival at Tashkent International Airport (TAS)
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer will scan your passport, take a photo, and stamp you in. The whole process usually takes 2-5 minutes per person.
2
Baggage claim and customs
After passport control, collect your luggage from the carousel. Then walk through the green channel if you have nothing to declare, or the red channel if carrying items over $10,000 or restricted goods. No customs form is required for most travellers.
3
Exit and transport
Once through customs, you're in the arrivals hall. Taxis are available outside — agree on the fare before getting in (around 50,000–80,000 UZS to the city centre). Alternatively, use ride-hailing apps like Yandex Taxi.
