Taiwan passport holders need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) to enter Palestine, processed through the Israeli system. The ETA is quick and inexpensive, but you must apply before you travel. Here's what you need to know for 2026.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
E-visa (ETA) for PalestineThis is an electronic travel authorization, not a visa sticker, and must be secured online before you travel.
Apply before travel
Taiwan passport holders must obtain an e-visa (ETA) through the Israeli Interior Ministry website before entering Palestine. The fee is 25 ILS (~$7 USD), processing takes minutes to a few hours, and the visa is valid for 2 years or until passport expiry. Apply at least 72 hours before departure.Required
Passport validityIf your passport expires sooner, renew it before applying for the e-visa.
At least 6 months
Your Taiwan passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended date of entry into Palestine.Required
Blank passport pagesBorder officials need a clean page to stamp your passport.
At least 1 blank page
Your passport must contain at least 1 blank page for entry/exit stamps.Required
Return or onward ticketImmigration may ask to see your departure plans.
Proof of departure
Have a confirmed return or onward flight ticket showing you will leave Palestine/Israel before your e-visa or passport validity expires.Required
Proof of fundsNot always requested, but having proof avoids problems at the border.
Sufficient for stay
Be prepared to show evidence of sufficient funds (cash, cards, or bank statements) to cover your stay in Palestine.Recommended
Arrival declarationYou don't need to fill out any extra arrival paperwork beyond the e-visa.
Not required
No separate arrival declaration form is required for Taiwan passport holders entering Palestine. Not required
Visa extensionPlan your trip to fit within the e-visa validity.
Not possible
The e-visa cannot be extended. If you need to stay longer, you must leave and re-enter with a new e-visa.Not required
ETA is for tourism and short visits
The ETA is not a work or study permit. If you plan to work, study, or stay longer than 90 days, you need a different visa — apply through an Israeli embassy or consulate well in advance.
Entry into Palestine is via Israel
You'll go through Israeli border control, not Palestinian. The ETA is issued by Israel. Be prepared for security questions and possible delays, especially at Ben Gurion Airport. Keep your ETA approval accessible.
Check current travel advisories
The security situation in Palestine can change quickly. Before booking, check your government's travel advisory and the latest news. The ETA is easy to get, but that doesn't mean the region is without risk.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your ETA online
Go to https://interior.gov.il/en/eta and fill out the application. Have your passport details ready. Pay the 25 ILS fee with a credit card. You'll get a confirmation email; approval is usually quick, but apply at least 72 hours before your flight to be safe.
2
Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) or via Allenby Bridge
Most travelers fly into Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport, then take a shared taxi or bus to Jerusalem or Ramallah. If arriving by land from Jordan, you'll cross at the Allenby Bridge (King Hussein Bridge) border terminal. Have your ETA approval (printed or on your phone) ready to show.
3
Go through Israeli border control
At Ben Gurion, follow the signs for 'Foreign Passports.' Present your passport and ETA. You may be asked questions about your itinerary. The process is usually smooth, but allow extra time for security screening. After stamping, you're free to enter Israel and then continue to Palestinian areas.
4
Enter Palestine
There are no formal border checks between Israel and the Palestinian territories. You can drive or take public transport to Ramallah, Bethlehem, or other cities. Keep your passport with you at all times — checkpoints within the West Bank may ask to see it.

Frequently asked questions

You need an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization), not a traditional visa. It's an online application through the Israeli government, valid for 2 years or until your passport expires. It costs 25 ILS (~$7 USD) and is usually approved within minutes to a few hours.
The ETA is valid for 2 years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. It allows multiple entries. The maximum stay per visit is typically 90 days, but always check the latest rules — the ETA is for tourism and short stays.
No. You must apply online before you travel. There is no on-arrival ETA facility. Without an approved ETA, you won't be allowed to board your flight or cross the border.
If your ETA is denied, you'll need to apply for a visa through an Israeli embassy or consulate. This is rare for Taiwanese citizens, but it can happen. Contact the nearest Israeli diplomatic mission for guidance.
No. The ETA covers entry into Israel and the Palestinian territories. Since you'll likely enter through Israel, the ETA is sufficient. There are no separate Palestinian visas for Taiwanese citizens.
Safety depends on the current situation. Check travel advisories from your government and the Israeli/Palestinian authorities. The ETA process is straightforward, but always stay informed about local conditions and follow guidance from local authorities.
Your passport (valid 6 months beyond arrival) and the ETA approval. You may also be asked for proof of onward travel, accommodation details, and sometimes proof of sufficient funds. Have these ready to speed things up.
