Apply early — don't risk it
The e-visa can take a few business days to process. Don't book non-refundable flights or hotels until you have the approved visa in hand. Also, double-check your passport's validity — 6 months from your arrival date is a hard requirement.
Print your e-visa
You must have a printed copy of your approved e-visa. Showing it on your phone is not reliable — immigration may not accept it. Print two copies and keep them separate from your passport.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-visa online
Go to the official Mozambique e-visa portal at https://evisa.gov.mz/ and fill out the application. You'll need your passport details, travel dates, and accommodation info. Upload a digital passport photo and a scan of your passport's bio page.
2
Pay the fee and wait for approval
Pay the visa fee online with a credit or debit card. Processing typically takes a few business days — check your email for the approval. Don't book non-refundable flights until you have it.
3
Print your e-visa
Once approved, print the e-visa document. Keep it with your passport. You'll need to show it at check-in and again at immigration in Mozambique.
4
Arrive at Maputo or other entry point
At Maputo International Airport (or any other port of entry), go to the immigration desk. Hand over your passport, printed e-visa, and any supporting documents. They'll stamp you in for up to 30 days.
