Ukrainian passport holders can enter Tajikistan without a visa for stays up to 90 days. This visa-free policy has been in place since 2022 and applies to tourism, business, and transit visits. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire period you plan to stay in Tajikistan. Border officers check this at Dushanbe airport and land crossings. Airlines may also verify validity before boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Tajikistan
Immigration at Dushanbe International Airport routinely asks for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot ready on your phone. This applies even if you enter overland from Uzbekistan or Kyrgyzstan.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may ask where you are staying, especially if you arrive without a pre-booked hotel. Have a printed booking confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host. This is not always checked but saves time if asked.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can request evidence of sufficient funds for your stay. Carry a bank statement or a credit card with a visible limit. There is no fixed minimum amount, but having around $50 per day in accessible funds covers most situations.Recommended
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Tajikistan, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, you'll be turned away at the border.
No extension available
The 90-day visa-free period cannot be extended. If you overstay, you risk fines and a re-entry ban. Plan your exit before day 90.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Dushanbe International Airport or land border
Most flights arrive at Dushanbe Airport. If coming overland from Uzbekistan or Kyrgyzstan, you'll cross at a land border post. Both work the same way — walk up to the immigration counter.
2
Present your passport and ticket
Hand over your passport and, if asked, your return ticket. The officer will check your passport validity and stamp you in. No visa application or fee needed.
3
Collect your luggage and exit
After the stamp, head to baggage claim (if flying), then customs. There's no arrival card to fill out for Ukrainian citizens.
