Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your passport needs to be valid for the entire period you plan to stay in Uzbekistan. No minimum validity period beyond your departure date is required by Uzbek immigration, but airlines may enforce a 6-month rule — check with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Uzbekistan
Immigration officers at Tashkent International Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy ready showing your departure within the visa-free period.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Border officers may request a hotel reservation or an invitation letter from your host. Keep a printed confirmation or digital copy on your phone for the immigration desk.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient money for your stay
Carry evidence of enough funds to cover your trip — around $50–$100 USD per day is a safe benchmark. A bank statement or credit card is usually sufficient if asked.Recommended
30-day limit is strict
You cannot extend the visa-free stay. If you need more than 30 days, apply for an e-visa or a consular visa before you travel.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you enter Uzbekistan — not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, you'll be denied boarding.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at the airport
At Tashkent International Airport (or any land border), follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' or 'Visa on Arrival' — but since you're visa-free, just join the regular passport control queue.
2
Present your passport
Hand over your passport. The officer will check your passport validity and may ask for your return ticket or hotel booking. Answer clearly and calmly.
3
Get stamped in
The officer stamps your passport with an entry stamp showing the date and the maximum stay (30 days). Keep this stamp visible — you'll need it when leaving.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, collect your bags from the carousel and walk through customs. Green channel if you have nothing to declare.
