Ugandan passport holders need a visa to enter Armenia in 2026. You must apply for an e-visa online before you travel. Plan ahead — processing can take a few business days.

Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Required for Ugandan passport holders
Apply for an Armenian eVisa at evisa.mfa.am before you travel. The application takes about 10 minutes and asks for your passport details, travel dates, and a digital photo. Processing usually takes 3–5 business days, so apply at least a week before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of your stay
Your Ugandan passport needs to be valid for at least the entire period you plan to stay in Armenia. Armenian border control does not enforce the 6-month rule — they just need the passport to cover your visit. Airlines may still check for 6 months validity, so check with your carrier.Required
Return or onward ticket
Recommended to show at check-in
Armenian immigration officers rarely ask for a return ticket, but your airline at check-in in Uganda might. Have a printed or digital copy of your onward flight booking ready. If you're flying budget carriers like Wizz Air or Ryanair, they enforce this strictly.Recommended
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to have ready
Border officers in Armenia rarely ask for hotel bookings, but having a printed confirmation or a booking.com reservation on your phone covers you. If you're staying with friends, a simple invitation letter with their address and phone number works.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to have available
Armenia does not have a fixed minimum cash requirement, but carrying around $500 USD equivalent in cash or having a credit card with a decent limit shows you can cover your stay. ATMs in Yerevan dispense AMD and USD, but smaller towns have limited options.Recommended
Apply for your e-visa early
Processing can take 2-3 business days. Don't wait until the last minute — apply at least a week before your departure.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your e-visa, ticket, and accommodation confirmation as PDFs or screenshots on your phone. Also keep a printed backup in your carry-on.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your e-visa online
Go to evisa.mfa.am, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $10-15) with a credit card. Processing usually takes 2-3 business days. You'll get a PDF approval — print it or save it to your phone.
2
Pack your documents
Before you leave, gather: your passport (6+ months validity), printed e-visa, return/onward ticket, first night accommodation confirmation, and travel insurance if you have it. Keep them in your carry-on.
3
Arrive at Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for foreign passports. Have your passport and e-visa ready. The officer will check your documents, may ask about your plans, and stamp you in. The whole process usually takes 10-20 minutes.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim, then customs. There's usually nothing to declare for personal items. Exit into the arrivals hall — taxis and buses are outside.
