What happens at the border

1
Apply for your e-Visa online
Go to the Jordan Ministry of Interior e-services portal (eservices.moi.gov.jo). Create an account, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the visa fee (around 40 JOD for a single-entry tourist visa). Processing usually takes 2–5 business days. You'll receive an approval email — print it or save the PDF on your phone.
2
Prepare your documents for travel
Before you leave, gather: your passport (6+ months validity), printed e-Visa approval, return flight ticket, first night hotel booking, and travel insurance. Keep them in a folder or a clear plastic sleeve in your carry-on.
3
Arrive at Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) in Amman
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for foreign passports. Hand over your passport, e-Visa approval, and return ticket. The officer will check your documents, take your fingerprints (usually index fingers), and stamp you in. The whole process takes 5–10 minutes if your paperwork is ready.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After passport control, head to baggage claim. Grab your bags, then walk through the green 'Nothing to Declare' channel if you have no goods to declare. You're in Jordan.
