What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to the ICA smart services website (smartservices.ica.gov.ae) and fill out the eVisa application. Upload a digital passport photo and a copy of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online. Processing takes 3–5 working days, sometimes longer.
2
Wait for approval
Check your email and the ICA portal for the visa approval. Once approved, download and print the eVisa document. Keep a digital copy on your phone as backup.
3
Prepare your documents for travel
Before you leave, gather: printed eVisa, passport with 6+ months validity, return ticket, hotel booking, and travel insurance. Save screenshots of everything on your phone.
4
Arrive at a UAE airport
At Dubai, Abu Dhabi, or Sharjah airport, go to the immigration counter for foreign passports. Hand over your passport and printed eVisa. The officer will scan your passport and stamp it. You may be asked for your return ticket or hotel booking — have them ready.
5
Collect your luggage and exit
After the stamp, collect your bags from the carousel and walk through the green channel if you have nothing to declare. You're in.
