Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Required before travel
Apply for a Guinea eVisa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal. Processing takes 3–5 business days. Print the approval letter and carry it with your passport to present at immigration.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your Ugandan passport needs at least 6 months of validity from your date of entry into Guinea. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Conakry Airport ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return flight or a ticket to your next destination ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
Hotel booking confirmation or an invitation letter from your host in Guinea. Immigration may ask where you are staying — having a printed reservation avoids delays.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Carry cash (Euros or USD) or a bank statement showing you can support yourself during your stay. There is no fixed minimum, but having around $200–$300 in cash is practical for the first few days.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no exceptions
There is no visa on arrival or visa waiver for Ugandans. Arriving without an approved eVisa means you will be denied entry and sent back on the next flight.
Yellow fever vaccination required
Guinea requires proof of yellow fever vaccination. Carry your yellow card with your passport — it may be checked at immigration.
