You must show a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate at immigration. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated on the spot (and pay a fee). Get the shot at least 10 days before your trip.
eVisa is for single entry only
The Burkina Faso eVisa is valid for a single entry. If you leave the country (even to a neighbouring one), you'll need a new visa to return.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Burkina Faso eVisa portal (visaburkina.bf). Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee (around $30–$50 depending on processing speed) with a credit or debit card. Submit and wait for approval — typically 2–5 business days.
2
Receive and print your eVisa
Once approved, you'll get a PDF by email. Print at least two copies — one to present at check-in and one for immigration on arrival. Save a digital copy on your phone as backup.
3
Arrive at Ouagadougou Airport (or land border)
At Ouagadougou International Airport, head to the immigration counter. Hand over your passport, printed eVisa, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in. The process usually takes 5–10 minutes. At land borders, the procedure is similar — expect slightly longer queues.
