Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
You need an eVisa to enter Guinea. Apply through the Guinea Ministry of Foreign Affairs portal. Processing takes a few business days — do not book flights until you have the approved visa in hand.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the duration of stay
Your passport must be valid for at least the entire period you plan to stay in Guinea. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires before you leave, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Guinea
Immigration officers routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your booking ready. Without one, you may be refused entry at Conakry airport.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Carry a hotel reservation confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host. Immigration may ask where you are staying — having a printed address speeds things up.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Have bank statements or cash available to show you can cover your stay. There is no fixed minimum amount, but officers may ask how you plan to pay for your trip.Recommended
Yellow fever vaccine required
You must show proof of yellow fever vaccination (Yellow Card) upon arrival. Without it, you may be denied entry or forced to get vaccinated at the airport at your own expense.
eVisa is single-entry only
The eVisa allows one entry. If you leave Guinea (even to a neighbouring country), you'll need a new visa to re-enter.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Guinea eVisa portal (if available) or use the government's designated application site. Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo and a scan of your passport bio page. Pay the fee online with a credit or debit card.
2
Wait for approval
Processing usually takes 3–7 business days. Check your email (including spam) for the approval. Once approved, download and print the eVisa document.
3
Arrive at Conakry International Airport
At passport control, present your printed eVisa, passport, and return ticket. The officer will stamp you in. Keep your boarding pass handy in case they ask.
4
Collect your luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim, then customs. There are no additional visa formalities at the airport.
