Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Visa required
Apply for a Kuwait eVisa at the official Ministry of Interior portal before travel. The eVisa is valid for single entry and allows a stay of up to 30 days. Processing usually takes 1–3 business days.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Kuwait. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for all visitors
Immigration officers at Kuwait International Airport routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or sponsor letter
Kuwait requires proof of where you will stay — either a confirmed hotel reservation or a letter from your Kuwaiti sponsor. Immigration may ask for this at the counter.Recommended
Proof of funds
Bank statement or cash
Carry a bank statement showing at least 1,000 KWD (approx. $3,250 USD) or equivalent cash. Kuwait immigration occasionally checks financial means, especially for first-time visitors.Recommended
Visa required — apply early
Uzbek passport holders cannot enter Kuwait without a pre-approved visa. Start the application at least 2 weeks before your trip. Processing can take 5–10 business days, and delays happen.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day you land in Kuwait, not from your departure date. Double-check before you apply.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your visa online
Go to the official Kuwait e-visa portal (evisa.moi.gov.kw). Fill in your details, upload a passport-style photo and a copy of your passport data page. Pay the fee (around 3–6 KWD depending on visa type). Wait for approval — typically 5–10 business days.
2
Print your visa approval
Once approved, you'll receive a PDF. Print a copy and also save it on your phone. You'll need to show it at the airline check-in counter and again at Kuwait immigration.
3
Arrive at Kuwait International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control' (not 'GCC Nationals'). Join the queue for 'Foreign Passports'. Have your passport, printed visa approval, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. The officer may ask a few questions — answer clearly. You'll get a stamp and can proceed to baggage claim.
