Proof of funds

Airlines check passport validity at check-in. If your passport expires within 6 months of your entry date, you will be denied boarding. No exceptions.
TDAC saves time at immigration
The Thailand Digital Arrival Card is free and optional, but completing it online before arrival can cut your queue time significantly. Do it at https://tdac.immigration.go.th.

What happens at the border

1
Prepare documents before departure
Check passport validity (6+ months from entry date). Book a return/onward ticket. Save hotel confirmation and TDAC (if completed) on your phone. Print backups if possible.
2
Arrive at Thai immigration
At any international airport (BKK, DMK, HKT, CNX) or land border, join the 'Foreign Passport' queue. Hand over passport and boarding pass. Officer may ask purpose of visit, length of stay, and proof of onward travel.
3
Receive entry stamp
Officer stamps your passport with 'Visa Exempt' and a date 60 days from entry. Check the stamp before leaving the counter — ensure the date is correct.
4
Collect luggage and exit
After immigration, proceed to baggage claim (if applicable), then customs. Green channel if nothing to declare. You're free to enter Thailand.
