Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Apply at the official Vietnam eVisa portal at evisa.xuatnhcanh.gov.vn. The fee is $25 USD for single entry or $50 USD for multiple entry, valid for up to 90 days. Processing takes 3 working days — do not book flights until approved.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for the entire stay
Your Uzbekistan passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your intended departure date from Vietnam. Airlines check this at check-in — if your passport expires sooner, you will be denied boarding.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure from Vietnam
Immigration officers at Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang routinely ask for proof of a return or onward flight within your eVisa validity period. Have a printed or digital copy of your ticket ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Have a printed or digital hotel confirmation for your entire stay. If staying with friends or family, carry their address and phone number — immigration may ask for it on arrival.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show sufficient cash or bank statement
Carry at least $500 USD in cash or have a bank statement showing available funds. Immigration rarely asks, but budget airlines sometimes check before issuing a boarding pass.Recommended
Apply early
The e-visa takes 3-5 working days. Don't wait until the last minute. Apply at least a week before your flight.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day you land in Vietnam, not from the day you apply. If it expires sooner, renew it first.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for the e-visa online
Go to the official Vietnam e-visa website (evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scanned copy of your passport data page. Pay the fee (around $25 USD for single entry, $50 for multiple entry). Processing takes 3-5 working days.
2
Receive and print your e-visa
You'll get an email with your e-visa approval letter. Print it out and keep a digital copy on your phone. The e-visa is a separate document from your passport — you'll show both at immigration.
3
Arrive at a Vietnamese airport
Present your passport and printed e-visa at the immigration counter. The officer will stamp your passport with an entry stamp. Major airports: Noi Bai (Hanoi), Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City), Da Nang, Cam Ranh (Nha Trang).
4
Show your return ticket and accommodation if asked
Immigration may ask for proof of onward travel and where you're staying. Have your return ticket and hotel booking confirmation ready on your phone or printed.
