Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa application
Visa required
You need a visa before traveling to Taiwan. Apply online through the Taiwan Bureau of Consular Affairs eVisa portal. Processing takes a few working days — apply at least two weeks before your flight.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Taiwan. Taiwan does not enforce the 6-month validity rule, but some airlines may still ask for it — check with your carrier before departure.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Immigration officers at Taoyuan and Kaohsiung airports routinely ask for proof of onward travel. Have a printed or digital copy of your return or onward ticket ready.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended
Officers may ask where you're staying. Have your hotel booking or host's address and contact details ready. A printed confirmation works best.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended
Carry evidence of sufficient funds for your stay — a bank statement or credit card showing available credit. Immigration rarely checks this for short visits, but it helps if asked.Recommended
Apply early — no walk-in visas
Taiwan does not offer visa on arrival for Uzbek passports. You must have an approved visa before you board your flight. Processing can take up to 2 weeks, so don't leave it to the last minute.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your visa approval, flight booking, and hotel confirmation as PDFs on your phone and in the cloud. If you lose your printed copies, you can still show them at immigration.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your visa online
Go to visawebapp.boca.gov.tw, create an account, fill in your details, upload a passport photo and scanned passport page, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 5–14 working days.
2
Wait for approval and receive your visa
Once approved, you'll get an email with your visa document. Print it out and keep a digital copy on your phone. Some visas are issued as stickers — if so, you'll need to visit the Taipei Representative Office in Tashkent to get it affixed.
3
Prepare your documents for travel
Before you fly, gather your passport (valid 6+ months), visa approval, return ticket, hotel booking, and insurance. Keep them in your carry-on.
4
Arrive at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)
At immigration, present your passport and visa. The officer may ask to see your return ticket and hotel booking. Answer questions clearly. You'll get an entry stamp allowing your stay.
